Having a clown who is good at ad lib, memorization and balloon animals, is a key element. Ours was named Captain Qirk. The script should be customized to reflect your clown's name. Summary: It's the last minute, say the middle off November, you have a small church, and someone says "Are we going to do something for a Christmas program this year?" Believe me, I didn't make this situation up. I've been there. That's why readers' plays are so wonderful. Here's a four person play (with optional puppet or a back-lit shadow box) for shy people or kids) that can just be read if you need to. Oh... and change it anyway you want to. Improvisation is the word for small churches or small dramatic groups.
