Summary: Priscilla has grown up never really knowing her real father. Her parents separated when she was a year old. Her mother remarried when she was two and had a son named David. Though the marriage was hardly marital bliss and eventually ended in divorce, her brother David still harbors resentment nine years later. Her mother tells her children that there’s a possibility of marriage with new boyfriend Tom, which both David and Priscilla are not receptive about. The household conversation seems to always be about David’s father, which makes Priscilla feel alienated, because she’s only spoken to her father by phone and hasn’t seen her father face-to-face since she was two. She decides to seek him out in hopes to finally meet him. When Priscilla reconnects with her father, who’s from out of state, they make arrangements to meet, but on his way to see her he’s killed in a train accident. God sends her a man named Frank to help her make sense of the loss.
