Script

(#1 is trying to send a message via his thoughts. Fingers to the side of the head.
#2 is lounging lazily in a chair.
#3 is standing in front of and staring at a “door” (can have a prop like a door))

(#4 enters)
(optional: #4 recites or reads Luke 11:9-10 if there are those in the audience who may not know these verses)
(#4 comes to number #1)
#4:  Hey (name)! What’s up?
#1:  Not much.
#4:  What are you doing?
#1:  Can’t you tell? (roll of the eyes)
#4:  Well, it looks like you might have a headache? I don’t know. I am not a mind reader.
#1:  Rats! (stomps foot) I was trying to send you a message that I need you to pray for me.
#4:  (Name), if you needed a prayer, all you had to do was ask.
#1:  Doesn’t Jesus know what I need without my asking to pray in the first place?
#4:  Yes, but He still wants us to ask.

(Both #1 and #4 can move to #2, or only #4 moves to #2)
#4:  Hey (name)!  What’s up?
#2:  Not much.
#4:  What are you doing?
#2:  (shifts around in the chair).  I am waiting. Geez….(rolling of the eyes)
#4 or #1:  What are you waiting for? The bus or a text?
#2:  I am waiting for God to come to me. I am hoping He brings me some food, clothes or some good guidance.
#4:  (shaking his head). (name), God is here, but you still need to seek Him. He is not just going to hand it to you, and especially if you are just sitting around!
#2:  So I need to get up, maybe read the Bible or attend worship or a youth group? Will I find God then?
#4:  It’s a start.
#1:  Ask and it will be given to you…
#4:  AND…  (pointing to #2)
#2:  Seek and you will find.

(Both #1 and #2 move with #4 to #3, or only #4 moves to #3)
#4:  Hey (name)! What’s up?
#3:  Not much.
#4:  What are you doing?
#3:  (gestures towards “door”) Can’t you see? I am standing at this door.
#4:  Why are you just standing there?
#3:  I am waiting for it to open.
#4:  Did you knock?
#3:  (sarcastically) Why should I knock on the door? Man, He knows that I am out here. He should just open the door.
#4:  (shaking his head) (name), yes God knows you are out here, but you still must take the first step and knock at the door. God wants us to be persistent and come to Him over and over. He has said…
#1:  Ask and it will be given to you…
#2:  Seek and you will find…
#3:  Knock and the door will be opened to you.
#4:  For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
