Those Kind Ones

Life often leaves me wondering,
What use is it to try.
It seems sometimes the more we do,
The more our dreams will die.

Yet several times on through my life,
Someone has made it clear.
This life that sometimes seems so gray,
Suddenly becomes quite dear.

These special people stand out bold,
When I review my days.
They’ve caused my doubts to disappear,
With their kind, gentle ways.

Young and old it’s either one,
Age really doesn’t count.
Their born that way, those gentle souls,
They’re like a flowing fount.

They love and give, they truly do,
Small thought for their own care.
They’re real and pure, and never false,
Our sorrows willingly bare.

If only all like these could be,
Our lives might be more kind.
But it’s so hard to make all see,
The peace we all could find.

If each and every one of us,
Could be as kind as those.
This life might be a better place,
With fewer pain and woes.

So next when something happens here,
That makes your hatred flow.
Just think of those kind gentle ones,
Share their secret, kindness show.
