Sacrifice.

I stood beneath the cross and cried,
As my Saviour hung and died.
I looked upon that tear stained face,
And marvelled at amazing grace.

I stood and thought about my wife,
Wondered if I could give my life,
For one I loved so much, so dear,
For when He died we weren't so near.

My children weep about the cross,
Not quite understanding loss.
He came, He lived, He died for me,
An odd way of gaining victory.

When I see the sacrifice,
And look at my own sinful life,
I know I should feel saved and free,
Why do I feel so unworthy?

My God, my God, please help me see,
That all you ask is I believe,
That when in glory You return,
Your sacrifice I did not spurn.

O help me please to understand,
The love You have for sinful man,
And when it's time for me to prove,
My love for You, to help me choose.

To stand up tall, and proud, and straight,
And enter by the narrow gate,
To cling on to that painful loss,
And give my all beneath the cross.

O loving Father hear my prayer,
And free me with Your grace so dear.
Your servant now, and when You call,
I offer You my life, my all.
