Script

(Scene: Prior to the following, two actors act balcony scene of Rome and Juliet, or play video.)

Husband: Can you believe there are people who think that's what love is all about? Talk about corny!

Wife: I think it's a very romantic scene.

Husband: A woman would!

Wife: And just what is THAT suppose to mean?

Husband: It means, that women fall for all that mushy, lovey dovey stuff!

Wife: And what do MEN think love is?

Husband: Love is being there for your wife and family. Working your fingers to the bone to make sure they have what they need. Protecting the old castle, doing battle with the outside world - you know, stuff like in Ephesians 5.

Wife: I agree that those things do prove that you love me, but a woman likes a little romance...

Husband: If you think I'm going to put on tights and starting talking like some kind of nut case just to prove I love you...

Wife: I, we women, don't expect you to do that, though a balcony scene would be kind of fun and romantic...

Husband: I knew it! You would love to see me to make a fool of myself!

Wife: Oh, don't have heart attack or something! I was just thinking out loud. When I talk about romance, I mean a candle light dinner, a ride in a horse drawn carriage, flowers, a sweet card, maybe a bunch of balloons when I'm having a bad day. Those kind of things.

Husband: I used to send you flowers.

Wife: You used to do a lot of things - when we were dating!

Husband: Ok, Ok, so I'm not the most romantic guy around! But I do still love you.

Wife: I know that, but sometimes I feel like now that you've "got me"; you don't feel that you still need to pursue me.

Husband: Huh?

Wife: I just want to know that you still find me attractive. That you feel about me like you did when we were dating. That I mean something to you.

Husband: Boy, you sure know how to make a guy feel guilty.

Wife: I don't want you to feel guilty, I just want to put a little romance back into our marriage. And it's not just you; I'm just as much at fault.

Husband: Ok, I'll give it a try - but no tights and no balcony scene!

Wife: Oh come on, not even just once? I won't tell anyone. It would be fun.

(They hug and exit)
