Script

(Setting: Husband has just returned home from work to find his wife angry with him.)

She: I am not mad! (Arms crossed back to husband)

He: You are too! Why don't you just admit it?

She: Well, I have a right to be!

He: Why? What did I do?

She: You know what you did...NOTHING!

He: So if I did nothing, why are you so angry?

She: Ohhhh! You never understand anything!

He: OK, so explain it to me.

She: If you don't know, then I'm not going to waste my breath!

He: This is what always happens! First you get mad at me and then you refuse to tell me why! So what am I suppose to do?

She: Nothing! It's too late!

He: Let me make sure I get this right. You're angry with me and won't tell me why and when I try and figure it out, you tell me it's too late. You're not making any sense!

She: And that's another thing! Why do men always try to figure out things and be so logical!? It drives us women nuts!

He: Did I forget something?

She: I'm not going to play 20 questions!

He: Oh, I get it, now I'm going to get the silent treatment!

She: OK, OK - I'll tell you if you'll just stop bugging me about it!

He: What?

She: You were suppose to meet me for lunch today! Did you show up? NO! Did you call? No! Did you say you were sorry when you got home? NO!

He: Oops! I forgot!

She: No kidding!

He: Just let me explain...

She: Don't bother, I'm used to your excuses!

He: You know that project I'm working on? Well, we're falling behind and the boss called a meeting to discuss our options, and the meeting went through lunch, and I forgot.

She: Well, if you're interested, I had a terrible morning! I was looking forward to our lunch and when you didn't show and didn't call, my day continued to go down hill. All I wanted was someone to talk to...I wanted you to be there for me! Was that too much to expect?

He: I'm sorry, I really am. It was unthoughtful of me!

She: To say the least!

He: I just forgot! Things were so hectic.

She: That's suppose to make me feel better?

He: What was I suppose to do? Quit my job?

She: I knew it would a waste of time to try and get you to understandÖ

He: OK, I blew it. I'm sorry! Will you please forgive me? Not because I deserve it, but because I love you!

She: Are you really sorry or just saying it so I won't be mad?

He: Cross my heart! How about we go out to eat tonight and maybe catch a movie or something?

She: How about we go to a NICE restaurant and just talk.

He: OK, I can handle that. You can tell me all about your day. Forgive me?

She: I do, but I probably shouldn't... if I didn't love you so much...

He: Well, I'm glad you do.

(They hug and exit)
